Introduction

Ballari is the location of a UNESCO World Heritage site located in the eastern region of Karnataka. Previously, this region was a constituent of Rayalaseema, which was under the governance of the Vijayanagara Empire. Following Independence, the Indian States underwent reorganization based on linguistic lines. As a result, Ballari became a constituent of the Hyderabad-Karnataka Region within the state of Karnataka. The Veerasaiva Vidyavardhaka Sangha (V.V.Sangha), a century-old organization, is honored by the wisdom and prestige of its founding fathers. In 1916, the initial action taken to stimulate intellectual growth and raise awareness among the general population was the establishment of V.V.Sangha. V.V.Sangha was officially registered under the Society's Registration Act XX1 of 1860, with registration number 1 of 1917-1918, on the 7th of March, 1918. In order to achieve its goals, the V.V.Sangha built a range of educational institutions, encompassing not just schools and colleges, but also technical, management, pharmacy, and teacher training institutes, as well as Kalyanamantapas in the Ballari and Vijayanagara Districts. The V.V. Sangha is committed to the principle of "Viddyege Gnanave Bhooshana". With the assistance of educators, visionaries, and philanthropists, the organization is striving to cultivate civic and patriotic ideals alongside education.Smt.ALLUM SUMANGALAMMA MEMORIAL COLLEGE FOR WOMEN (Smt ASMC), located in Ballari, Karnataka, was founded in 1969 by the Veerashaiva Vidyavardhaka Sangha. Initially, the student population was 164, but it has already grown significantly to reach 1300 students. The primary objective of establishing this College is to promote women's education in the underdeveloped district of Karnataka state. The college offers comprehensive programs in Arts, Science, Commerce, Management, Computer Science, Computer Application, and Postgraduate Studies in Commerce. This College has established a commendable reputation in this region via its constant achievement of excellent academic performance and rankings. The College has gained a reputation for its exceptional intellectual prowess. The college is fortunate to have a faculty of highly qualified, experienced, and capable professors who hold M.Phil. and Ph.D. degrees.

SMT. ALLUM SUMANGALAMMA MEMORIAL COLLEGE FOR WOMEN, BALLARI, was established in 1969 managed by the Veerashaiva Vidavardhaka Sangha, Bellary. It started with student's strength of 164 and today it can boast of 1000 students. This college has been established with an avowed goal of fostering women's education in this backward district of Karnataka State. It is full-fledged college having courses of study of Degree in Arts, Science, Commerce and Business Management and Computer Applications faculties. This college has made its name in this area by securing consistently Good Results and Ranks. The college has been known for its academic excellence. Every faculty has highly qualified experienced and competent teachers with M.Phil and Ph.D Degrees.

Bellary being District Headquarter know for mining and steel industries is widely recognized as the only "Steel City" in the Southern India. The "Jindal Vijayanagar Steel Limited" (JVSL) and other large scale steel industries play a very important role in promoting industrial atmosphere which in turn helps in the growth of service industry. This particular area benefits a lot of young students who get graduated in various disciplines. Bellary is well connected by road and railways. It is at distance of 300 kms from Bangalore and 50 kms from Guntakal (A.P). From Bellary the most historical places Hampi and Thungabhadra (T.B) Dam is 68 kms.
