World Teachers’ Day is observed every year on October 5. In 1994, UNESCO (the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) declared October 5 as World Teachers’ Day.
The day recognizes the important role teachers play in society and highlights their contributions to education, the development of students, and the future of the nation. Teachers help shape students’ knowledge, skills, values, and character.
World Teachers’ Day also raises awareness about teachers’ rights, responsibilities, working conditions, and the importance of providing quality education. It is an opportunity to appreciate teachers for their dedication, hard work, and service to society.
