Department of Botany in association with NSS Units celebrated NSS Day on 24.09.2024
NSS was formally launched on 24th September, 1969, the birth centenary year of the Father of the Nation Dr. V.K. R.V. Rao, Therefore, 24 September is celebrated every year as NSS Day with appropriate programmes and activities. National Service Scheme (NSS) was introduced in 1969 with the primary objective of developing the personality and character of the student youth through voluntary community service. 'Education through Service' is the purpose of the NSS. The ideological orientation of the NSS is inspired by the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi.

In our College NSS Day celebrated in Botany Lab on 24.09.2024. College Governing Council Chairperson Smt.KATHYAYINI MARIDEVAIAH, I/c. Principal Dr.Dupam Satheesh, IQAC Coordinator Dr.P.J.BINDU, & Co-Coordinator Dr.Syeda T, NSS Unit Officer Dr.Basavarajeshwari, Botany Department Head Dr.Bheemana Gouda Patil, Zoology Faculty Sri Yunus Basaha, Staff and Students participated on occasion.
