“Science students must take an active part in the science lectures seminars and competition and should cultivate the habit of writing on various science and related topics” said Prof. M.R.Nagaraj, Former Principal, Founder member of KRVP, renowned writer of science. He spoke on the occasion of “Annual Observance of World Water Day-2019” jointly organized by the Departments of Zoology and Botany and KRVP, Ballari on 22- March – 2019 in college seminar hall. He said that the water which we have today is absolutely not pure water and the water we use is almost polluted or contaminated. The famous poet and social reformer Kanakadasa had questioned the world that “Does anyone know the religion of water” this means water is everyone birth right. Even the great poets Shri Raghavanyaka and other glorified the significance of water. He underlined the point that “A drop of water is more precious than the sack of gold.” he also strongly advised all the women at home to minimize the utility of water and avoid its wastage up to the possible extent. He also suggested measures for conservation of water.
Dr.S.Y.Thimmareddy, Principal, Smt. A.S.M. College for Women, Ballari, made presidential remarks. Dr.M.G.Nadagouda, Head of Department Botany and Sri. DupamSatheesh, Head of Department of Zoology, Dr. B. Govindraj, President, KRVP, Ballari Dist., spoke on this occasion and all the Staff members and Students had attended the event and got enlightened.
