National Cadet Corps [NCC]
“Unity and Discipline”
The realization of need to create a youth organization at national level to train the young boys and girls to be better citizens and future leaders of our great country in all walks of life, NCC came into existence on 16thJuly, 1948, through xxxi Act of Parliament NCC was formally inaugurated on 15th July 1948 under the Ministry of Defense (MoD). As soon as the schools and colleges reopens after summer vacation. The girls division of the NCC was raised in July 1949 with its MOTTO ‘UNITY AND DISCIPLINE’. NCC strives to be and is one of the greatest cohesive forces of our nation,bringing to gather the youth hailing from different parts of our country and molding them into united and disciplined citizens of our nation. NCC aims to develop character, deduction, discipline, leadership, spirit of adventure, sportsmanship and ideals of selfless service among the youth of the country. It creates a human resource of organized, trained and motivated youth, to provide leadership in all walks of life and always be available for the youth, to take up a career in the armed forces. Training in NCC instills qualities like nationalism, patriotism, discipline, team spirit, esprit-de-corps, leadership, self-confidence and promotes overall personality development.
The students of Smt. A.S.M. Women’s College are enrolled with 34 KAR BN NCC BALLARI/SW GIRLS NCC. After extensive selection through competitions they had represented the college in Republic Day, Camps, Independence Day Thalsainik Camps, National Integration Camps and Youth Exchange Programmes.

NCC EVENTS:-
1] INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY:
Yoga is the journey of the self, to the self and through the self. The word yoga orginates from the Sanskrit word “YUJ”, which means union of individuals soul with its spirit. The yoga day will be celebrated every year on June 21 and it is also declared as International Yoga Day. The NCC cadets of 34 KAR BN NCC from Smt. A.S.M. College for Women has been celebrating this day every year. However, this year it was something special like the theme was “Connect the Youth” being given by our Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi. Thus, the NCC students actively participated in the event every year.
2] SWACHH BHARAT ABHIYAN:
'Clean India Mission' abbreviated as Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is a national campaign by the Government of India covering 4, 041 statutory cities and towns to clean the streets roads and infrastructure of the country. The Campaign was officially launched on 2 October 2014 at Rajghat, New Delhi by Honourable Prime Minister, Sri.Narendra Modi It is India's biggest ever cleanness drive and 3 million government employees and school and college students of India participates in this event continually.
On 16/08/2016, the NCC unit of the College conducted “SWACHH BHARAT ABHIYAN”. In that event the cadets participated actively and cleaned the college campus.
3] TRECKING CAMP:
NCC unit organizes yearly visits to hill stations where the young cadets are taken out for trekking and rock climbing expeditions, the cadets who perform well in such events are sent to various National institutes of Mountaineering. The cadets of NCC of 34 KAR BN NCC from Smt. ASM College BALLARI had organized such event on 10/09/2016. In Daroji, range cadets performed rope climbing for 2 Kms of Veerbhadreshawar Mountain and travelled to Hampi performed trekking and Map Reading First Aid practices. All the enrolled cadets took an active part in this event.
